What should Dad Wear for the shoot?
We spend a lot of time talking about what Mum and Bub will be wearing for our session but let’s talk about Dad for a minute! Let's face it; Dads often get a little overlooked in the wardrobe department. So let's ensure he's camera-ready too.
Neutral Tones for the Win: One golden rule for any photoshoot, whether it's maternity, newborn, or family sessions, is to stick to neutral tones and solid colours. Think crisp white and earthy hues like soft greys, muted blues, and subtle browns. These tones not only photograph beautifully but also create a timeless and cohesive look for the whole family.
Say No to Logos and Busy Prints: Dads, this is your time to shine without the help of flashy logos or busy prints. Opt for solid colours or simple patterns that complement the overall look.
Comfort is Key: You want to be comfortable during the shoot so that way you’re looking and feeling your best. Try to go for pieces that are well-fitted but comfortable and allow you to move freely and be present in the moment. A relaxed-fit pair of pants or shorts with a shirt or tee can be a winning combo.
Coordinate, Don't Match: Aim for a complimentary colour palette that ties everyone's outfits together without being too matchy-matchy. Coordinating shades creates a visually pleasing effect, adding depth and dimension to your family photos.
